The AquaLife RO Domestic Water Filter uses six treatment stages in a defined water path. Each stage has a different role, so the system should be understood as a complete process rather than six identical filters.
Stages one to three
The external 5 micron pre-filter addresses visible sediment such as mud, sand and rust. A 1 micron sediment filter captures finer suspended particles. The inline carbon stage helps reduce chlorine-related taste and odour and helps protect the RO membrane.
The RO membrane
The fourth stage is the main reverse-osmosis membrane. It reduces many dissolved substances under suitable pressure and operating conditions. Performance varies with source water, temperature and membrane condition.
Final conditioning
After storage, the post-carbon filter polishes taste and odour. The mineral alkaline cartridge then conditions the final water and supports the target outlet pH range. Maintenance is necessary to preserve flow and treatment performance.
