Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Sri Lanka
What reverse osmosis means
Reverse osmosis, usually shortened to RO, uses pressure to move water through a semi-permeable membrane. The membrane allows water to pass while reducing many dissolved substances. The result varies with incoming water, pressure, temperature, membrane condition and system design.
An RO membrane works as part of a system
A complete domestic RO system normally protects the membrane with sediment and carbon treatment and conditions water again after storage. The AquaLife system uses six stated stages: a 5 micron pre-filter, 1 micron sediment filter, inline carbon filter, RO membrane, post-carbon filter and mineral alkaline cartridge.
Points buyers should understand
- RO systems produce treated water and a separate reject-water flow.
- They require suitable inlet pressure, drainage, power and maintenance.
- Output and final-water readings are not identical at every property.
- Consumable cartridges and membranes must be replaced when required.
